Fashion is cyclical in nature. Each season we see popular trends of yore coming back around; in one form or another, we’ve seen everything that’s out there some time before. But it’s always nice when an advance in technology brings something new into the mix. Digital prints have been around for a few years now but I’ve been seeing vibrant, graphic patterns and images popping up not just in couture collections but in high-end prêt-à-porter and mainstream lines as well. McQ by Alexander McQueen’s digitally enhanced image of a spliced crystal turned an otherwise simple jersey dress into a unique and spectacular gem (pun intended, not sorry), while last year’s Pollination collection by Jaime Lee gave us an eyeful of color with her digital kaleidoscopic prints.
Here’s what’s on my wish list this season (seriously large photos because the detail is awesome):
McQ by Alexander McQueen mineral print stretch jersey dress, $435, Net-a-Porter
McQ by Alexander McQueen mineral print cotton blend faille skirt, $970, SHOPBOP
AllSaints Wither Tank, $168, AllSaints
Jolie Moi digital print midi dress, $39, Dorothy Perkins
Lipsy floral print dress with lantern skirt, $92, ASOS
Emma Cook Jessie dress in mechanical flower printed silk jersey, $599, ASOS
