Sarah Burton may be skipping out on the runway shows this time around – expecting a baby at literally any moment makes you have to shake up your plans a bit, even on one of the busiest weeks in the industry – but her team is still finding interesting ways to release the latest collection for McQ by Alexander McQueen.
Select items from the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 menswear and womenswear lines can be seen in the designer’s new 20th century film-inspired video, featuring models Maria Bradley and Botond Cseke in London posing creepily with eerie music to match, as is the McQueen way. We can expect a season of zebra print coats, sweater dresses, pants with military style buttons and more, bringing this spring’s black-and-white obsession straight into fall.
“We wanted to try different ideas of introducing McQ each season so for autumn/winter 2013-14, we’ve integrated a fashion film with a series of mood images and lookbook,” Alexander McQueen CEO Jonathan Ackroyd told Vogue. ” The film and imagery captures McQ’s youthful aesthetic, offering something that remains true to the brand’s rebellious and urban heritage.”
