I’m not even going to bother with a worst dressed list for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, there were just too many mishaps tonight. Way too many ladies going for the sheer black skirt (don’t their stylists check to see what anyone else is wearing?), lots of ill-fitting gowns and cheap-looking material. But with that said, there were plenty of great looks, too – beautiful colors and belts made my top fashion moments of the night. (Runway/lookbook photos bolded in the captions where I could find them.)
Helen Hunt in Fall 2012 Romona Keveza
I know this is silver overload, but she just looks amazing in this dress. At first I thought it was a little young for her, but the more I stared at it, the more I realized it fits her like a glove. I wish she went with a better necklace, a red lip, something to add a little more color because it’s just too plain. But even with monochromatic style the dress looks absolutely gorgeous.
Amanda Seyfried in Pre-Fall 2013 Zac Posen
I am always smitten with Amanda’s dresses, her stylist makes the best choices. The navy works well with her skin tone and I love the old-school-glamour hairdo. Ditch the long necklace and we’d have a winner.
Freida Pinto in Roland Mouret
Ignore the mom-bob, Freida is one of the most gorgeous women in the world. This shocking pink is definitely her color, and the black accessories and neutral makeup are a good way to balance out such a bold choice.
Giuliana Rancic in Spring 2013 Max Azria Atelier
The only thing Giuliana needs is a burger, otherwise this dress is flawless. She never usually goes for such bright colors, so the cobalt is a nice change from her typical neutral/red/black dresses. It looks like her hair is thinning on the left side, though, so while an asymmetrical ‘do might not have been the best choice, it does balance out the look.
Nina Dobrev in Spring 2013 Elie Saab
Coral may have been last spring’s “it” color, but Nina brings it back in full force with this Elie Saab gown. Could a blonde have pulled this off? I think her dark hair is a good contrast and makes the look. Love the jewelry and accessories, the peekaboo waist, the little matching belt – best dressed, hands down!
